One man who knows all about the potential of the walls is Daniel Bell. The designer suggested they can be an effective tool for gardeners, the Guardian reports. According to the expert, the walls provide people with the opportunity to grow more plants in small spaces.
This may be of particular interest to homeowners living in city areas, where outside space comes at a premium.
Three years ago, Mr Bell was involved in a project to create an interior living wall for a renovated listed house in north London, where the owner had dug into the basement to install a glass cube kitchen.
Commenting on his thought process when he first entered the space, the specialist remarked: “As soon as I saw the old wall outside the kitchen, I thought it was the perfect place to continue the living wall.”
Now, owners of the property Alex Benasuli and Justin Dennis are able to look out onto a seamless wall of rolling greenery that extends for 25 feet or more. Mr Bell revealed that he loves the “show-stopping theatricality of it”.
