A swimsuit should help a woman feel more confident and comfortable by the water. It should flatter the body in the right place, yet be secure enough to properly swim in without the straps slipping or digging in uncomfortably. Having a swimsuit or bikini that fits properly is very important. Here are some tips to help get the perfect fit when trying on and choosing swimwear:
• Women should always try on swimwear with their underwear on and with the hygiene strips and tags still attached.
• Although it might feel comfortable, swimwear that is too big won’t offer the bust any support and won’t be very secure in the water. A too large swimsuit can also create drag when swimming. Women who are between sizes should go down a size as swimwear can expand slightly in water
• A bikini top or bra-sized swimming costume should fit in a similar way to other lingerie. The back band should feel firm for support and the cups should surround the breast completely.
• When the arms are lifted above the head, there shouldn’t be any spillage from the cups of the swimsuit top. If any spillage occurs, it’s likely that the cup size is too small.
• It’s also a good idea to move around in the swimsuit to see how comfortable it is. Jump up and down to see if the costume stays in place. The straps should also stay on the shoulders at all times, without digging in uncomfortably.
