In your application for a permit, you must specify all details such as your location, road positioning of the skips, the size of the skip, the time period for which you need a skip and the contents to be loaded into the skip etc. Since you are directly dealing with the council, therefore you will be saved from paying any unnecessary commissions to the middle men.
Getting a permit – Once all the paper formalities have been completed and the requisite payment is deposited with the council, wait for some time, say 5 to 7 days. In case, you need a skip permit earlier than this, you will be required to specify the same in your application. Extra surcharge is required by some councils for granting of permit in an emergency. Therefore, you must add that too in your payment. Finally, you will get permit for skip hire, once the council is satisfied with all the details sent by you. You can go ahead with the hired skip company to get rid of the wastes from your house. Just keep in mind that the whole procedure must be completed within the specified time period i.e. the expiry limit of the permit.
